The Labelling Guide for Substances and Preparations
Dr. Hans Razenberg
Before bringing substances and preparations on the market, manufacturers and importers have to identify all dangerous properties for men and environment and classify and label these products fulfilling the requirements of the Dangerous Substance (67/548/EEG) and Preparations Directive (1999/45/ EC). This harmonised system for classification and labelling of chemicals contributes to the harmonious development of the European trade of chemical products. The harmonised label helps workers and consumers to recognise easy the dangerous properties of a product.
The Labelling Guide for Substances and Preparations helps the manufacturer/importer to identify the dangerous properties of his product and in fulfilling his labelling and packaging requirements.
Following the stepwise approach of this labelling guide the manufacturer/importer will generate the information needed for the right classification, labelling and packaging of his substances and/or preparations and if appropriate his aerosols.
